Yejih is a Research Analyst with a diverse academic background and extensive experience in capacity development, employment, labour, and education. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from Korea University of Technology and Education, and an M.A. in International Development Cooperation from Korea University. With a background in French and International Economics & Law from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, she began her career at KOTRA, organising in-house training for government officials. Later, she supported labourers and technicians in the logistics sector at Foundation of Korea Logistics Industry Promotion.
During her academic pursuits, Yejih participated in the Knowledge Sharing Program at the Korea Development Institute, which involved policy consultation for TVET, R&D, and M&E systems in Myanmar. In her doctoral studies, focusing on HRD and TVET, she led projects such as TVET feasibility studies, job analysis, needs assessment, and curriculum development. Her dissertation analysed job-education mismatch for development consultants, with a specific emphasis on the TVET sector in Korea.
At MKE, Yejih primarily focuses on Myanmar projects, contributing her expertise to analysing economic monthly trends for Myanmar Analytical Activity. She also leads MEL and research projects, such as MEL consultancies for UNICEF and the endline assessment of the Graduation Model in Rakhine for Relief International, showcasing her commitment to driving impactful change through research and analysis. Additionally, she takes charge of designing and implementing employee training programs for MKE staff, ensuring our team remains equipped with the latest skills and knowledge.
