Description of Project:
The study assessed the status-quo of the household business sector, identified shortcomings and challenges both in terms of business practices and legislation, and assessed the needs to improve the legal status of household business operators. Based on the findings and international best practices, the study recommended policy interventions to mainstream and better support household businesses.
The study aimed to: 1/ Support household businesses to overcome disadvantages and enhance competitiveness by improving the sector’s legal status; and 2/ Streamline the legislative framework applicable to household businesses for better governance of the sector.
