Developing the Private Sector in Lang Son
Consultants were tasked with designing the project “Developing the Private Sector in Lang Son”. The project aimed at strengthening public information services and clarifying government oversight of the private sector in Lang Son. The proposed activities included: setting up a Business Support Centre to act as a one-stop shop and provide free information for private sector business persons; setting up a Business Association; organising workshops; conducting study tours; producing newsletters and articles in local newspapers; producing information packs about government services, and producing government agency brochures.
Increasing Knowledge and Capacity for Active Economic Integration at the Local Level
The aim of the project was to increase understanding and receptiveness towards economic integration in Hai Duong and Tay Ninh provinces through capacity building in the Hai Duong and Tay Ninh Provincial Political Schools. Initially, the project was designed to deliver training-of-trainers to the core economics teaching staff in the two schools covering new teaching methodologies, curriculum design and how to conduct a training needs analysis. The main part of the project aimed to support the two provinces in developing a new course for local-level civil servants covering “globalisation and economic integration”. The course consisted of two separate modules: a common first module covering globalisation and economic integration in general; and separate second module covering issues relevant to each province.
